We spent several days at the ice-hotel, in the warm rooms, or rather cabins - they have separate bedrooms, a sitting/TV room, and a small kitchen. The cabin was great. The staff were very friendly, but missed to book a restaurant reservation we had asked for, and we also saw them give very wrong information about upgrade costs to another couple. Of the 3 restaurants owned by the ice-hotel, the expensive "veranda" meal was well worth the cost, really excellent, and a fantastic experience. The adjoining standard restaurant also had very good food. The "homestead" restaurant is some 900m away, and very cosy, but the quality of the food varied from very good (chantarell soup, pizzas) to rather poor (fish soup, venison sausage). The lodge also claimed to serve some food (soup, baggette) but had only crisps and snacks when we tried to eat lunch one day.
Overall we had a very god vacation though, with skiing and viewing of the remarkable ice-sculptures. Even some northern lights (through the clouds).
